The field operations and desktop studies were performed in the first quarter of 2019. The surveys of 25 active water intakes were carried out in settlements of Orenburg, Sakmar, Belyaevsky and Saraktash districts within the sheet M-40-II (Orenburg). Water samples for chemical analysis were taken from all. The desktop studies include drawing up of preliminary diagrams of hydrogeological stratification in the section of Quaternary and pre-Quaternary sediments and correlation tables of the sedimentary cover for both sheets. There was also compiled a set of preliminary digital hydrogeological maps in 1:200 000 scale.
Currently, the field operations are performed in parallel with the desktop studies. In total in the second quarter it is scheduled to survey 34 water intakes, perform 80 running km of reconnaissance and 220 running km of hydrogeological routes. In 2019 the hydrogeologists expect to complete the works at the site.
