Moscow, August 31, 2020 SNIIGG&MC (a subsidiary of RosGeo), as part of the consortium of research institutes, starts implementing a large-scale scientific grant of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (Minobrnauki of Russia) “Socioeconomic Development of the Asian Russia Based on Synergy of Transport Accessibility, Systemic Knowledge of Natural Resources Potential, Expanding International Cooperation Domain”. The scientists are to work out the concept of socioeconomic development of the Asian part of Russia which is aimed at the sustainable economic growth and raising wellbeing of the population.
In this large-scale work, SNIIGG&MC is entrusted to elaborate on mindful use of natural resources of territories, including efficient and social-oriented use of subsoil resources, development of infrastructure and fresh water supply. The institute is to study the subject “Practical Application and Main Production and Economic Links in the Asian Russia in the Field of Exploration, Extraction and Transportation of Hydrocarbon Feed” over three years.
The Russian Ministry of Science and Education (Minobrnauki) of carries out the contest in priority science and technology development areas to implement the sub-program “Basic Research for Long-Term Development and Ensuring Competitiveness of the Society and the State” of the governmental program “Science and Technology Development of the Russian Federation”. In 2020 the contest was carried out in conditions of high competitiveness; only 40 projects out of 367 applications won.
“We are happy to take part in a new basic integrated research and ready to contribute to working out the program of socioeconomic development of the Asian Russia,” Managing Director of SNIIGG&MC, Academic of RAS Mikhail Epov. “The institute has accumulated significant experience which includes development of geological studies programs of individual Russian subjects and a whole micro region, the Siberian Platform, building plans of subsoil resources licensing, justification of construction of trunk oil pipelines and conduct of integrated geological and economic studies. Today, these competences are mostly in demand by not only federal bodies and mining companies but also by investment banks, development institutions and RZD,” he said.
